I know on windows computers if you are an administrator you can set up a user account that limits time of use. ie 4pm-10pm mon- fri 8am-10pm sat sun, ect.

tell him you have installed these limits and if the computer shuts down before his homework is done. hes got to finish it long hand...

a few times of this happening t my daughter and getting a few bad grades, she learned

Hi, I can relate to you. My son is 15 years old and every time I checked him if he is doing his homework, he will change the screen of his laptop. Nowadays a world is filled with distractions everywhere we turn. I told my son to focus on his homework, no texting or browsing Instagram, snap chat, twitter. Sometimes I would check him from time to time to make sure he is doing his homework or else he will stay up until 2 am doing homework. I learned a lot from this article, http://bit.ly/2oMnUmV, it teaches about how to set limits in what and how long they can view social media, it might help you too.

In order for you to figure out what your son is looking at the internet, you can try this link, http://bit.ly/2p9q9NM. Thank you for sharing.

Yep, this sounds like what he's doing. Just swipe to the next desktop and I bet you'll see either a game open or find some search history.

can you tell me more about Private mode?

We do have parental controls installed. The only things showing up in history are things he is supposed to be doing.

Ok, so when my child is supposed to be doing homework, I can creep up behind him and see he is clearly doing something else. As soon as he hears me, he swipes the pad and whatever it is is GONE and it isn't in the history -- I cannot find it. But I know with certainty it is something else.

He has a new MacBook air.

any thoughts on how i can figure out what it is he is looking at if it isn't showing up in the internet history?
