Definitely Oliver. My 10 year old son loved it.
Paddingnton
Night at the Museaum/London

The Harrry Potter tour is great. My 10"year old loved it. But take the tube and shuttle bus. I did a tour bus and it is not a tour. Just transportation. And you stop a few places before to get others. The worst part was that our visit was cut short because the bus was leaving. Not worth it at all.

The 39 Steps or The Thirty-Nine Steps
Hitchcock's 1935 Version: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0026029/?ref_=fn_al_tt_4
TV Movie Version http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078389/plotsummary?ref_=tt_ov_pl

It's a spy thriller. The steps refer to the steps inside Big Ben.

This version of Peter Pan: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/peter-pan-2003

The Prince and the Pauper. There's a Disney version with Mickey and one with Aidan Quinn:

Oliver!

There aren't really any live action Sherlock Holmes movies appropriate for a 10 year old, but try The Great Mouse Detective:

101 Dalmatians: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-reviews/101-dalmatians
Not necessary, but fun!

Notting Hill is a stupid movie; I wouldn't inflict it on your kid. James Bond and National Lampoon are inappropriate. Bend it Like Beckham is a great movie, but unless he's a soccer fan, I'd skip it.

OP here - thanks so much! I was drawing a blank beyond Harry Potter and stuff rated R. Wondered about 007 being a little too sexy, but as I recall, some were just cheesy and may be ok - will consult IMDB...

National Lampoons European Vacation...otherwise he won't get the joke when you say, "Look kids! Big Ben, Parliament!"

Tower of London has great armour. My DS loved it. Also Harry Potter studio. Can take a bus there. Oddly Westminster Abbey also. Best was just walking around.

We'll be visiting London for a week in June - any recommendations on movies/series to help get DS into the trip in ways that only a screen can?
Related site seeing recommendations a huge plus!
TIA!
