I should say, when I broached the topic of a review and promotion I shared that I was at the point in my career where I was thinking long term and I wanted to make sure I had a path there. I didn't flat out say I was looking g for another job, but I said I was exploring. We don't have a set review period, it is all employee driven.

After 5 years of no promotion, I went to my senior leadership team and made a case for promotion. This was one month ago 3/1. What should occur after I make the case - my colleagues review me, I complete a self-review, and I review the competencies of the next level and do another self-eval to see where I think I fit. In the background I assume leadership is also evaluating my competencies by having discussions with team members.

I have been checking in on the progress which imo has been very slow-moving. Wanting to draw an informal line in that sand on Monday 3/27 I put time on tues 4/4 to review this all with my manger. I got neither accept nor decline. The writing is on the wall here, right? Wisdom please. And yes, to a point I have mommy-tracked myself. I have a special needs kid and we had a hell of a time with the schools last year so I have certainly held myself back.
