So basically, in your opinion, no one over 50 looks good and all have, in your words, " given up." 50 and over, the pp thinks you're doomed.

I don't feel like the longer the hair, the better, but I do feel like a lot of 50-somethings look nice with hair that is shoulder length or a little longer. Personally, my hair is much easier to manage at that length. Some people prefer short hair and look good with it. I think women should wear their hair however they like, and that's especially true at our age.

I'm a tall large woman, if I cut my hair short other women start calling me "sir." True story. Will keep my longish hair as long as I want to.

Most taller larger women look hideous in super short hair, even if they are very feminine. Shorter and/or skinnier women can pull off the short cuts. Or women with super round faces.

Age has nothing to do with hair style or length.

I think it depends on the person. Also there are definitely cultural norms - where I am from in Europe it is all about having a short, chic cut. Not necessarily super short but above shoulders. Generally, I can't bear long manes of hair on older women but I have seen a few who look good.

The look not the lot.

I have a friend who lives by the rule that older women must cut their hair short. It's so unfortunate because the lot ages her and a bob would do wonders.

I plan on following my mother, who had long, long hair down her back. She liked it one straight, which worked for her. I'd blend in blonde highlights for her to mix with the grey.

I think length is awesome. I love Lilly Tomlin's hair on that Netflix show with Jane Fonda. There's a sensuality to it that suits her character.

As at every age, do what looks best on you. I want to be a lioness. Maybe my DD will add auburn highlights to my hair when I'm as old as my mother was? That would be lovely.

To me, short hair requires way too much maintenance. Long hair, not so much. That's part of what drives my decision.

I'm turning 50 this year, and my hair is quite a bit past my shoulders. It's curly and I have an oval-shaped face. I keep it long because it gets very mushroom-y if it gets too short. Just does not look good at all. I also like being able to put it up in a ponytail.

My 65YO DW has shoulder length hair and looks great. It allows her to wear it a bunch of different ways which we both like. She has a very youthful countenance which helps.

I see some ladies who insist on having long hair,
many of them could look so much better in shorter hair.
For some reason the long hair makes look all the facial features
to look even more South.

I mean, it does look good on some people but not on just everybody.
