That's what the tests are for - to determine if there are LDs or ADHD or whatever.
Obviously. But those things really impact an IQ score and the school psychs are not good at separating the issues out. Search this forum for hundreds of stories re this issue.

The only time i would be nervous is if I had a nonverbal or child with expressive language issues. That can skew results.

My son's iq score from the school was right on target with private. Some test yield a low score at times (Stanford-Binet) so maybe it is the tests adminsitered

Our son was evaluated 2x by his school, and we did 2 private evaluations.
The school testing found the same general issues (ADHD, low processing speed, working memory deficits) but was simply not as deep. It was fine as far as it went, but when we began to see signs of anxiety we went to a private neuropsychologist because we wanted to make sure we understood if our child had ADHD, anxiety or both.
