As others have pointed out the school "experience" is pretty similar. If having a secure spot in aftercare is important to you go for Janney. Or start making a fuss as to why Lafayette only offers aftercare to a fraction of its student body. Appalling as they just got a brand new 85 Million Dollar building.

Janney aftercare is great and there's no waitlist (except for professional development days if you wait until the last minute.) tons of Enrichment opportunities as well.

How are they learning different things? They are all teaching the CCSS. Maybe it just comes down to what teachers they have.

I don't know about Janney after care but the Lafayette aftercare is very hard to get into from what I understand. Although I think there has been talk of expanding it. The DPR free after care at Lafayette is not for young kids. If aftercare is important think about Murch which has two great programs.

+1. Really, OP, it's ok if given this choice you choose based on the house. Both neighborhoods have extremely competitive real estate markets and it's going to be hard enough to buy a house in either. Some of the Lafayette zone is pretty far from the metro and not very walkable, so that's something you might want to consider, too. The schools are pretty much equivalent. Ultimately, one might be a better fit for your kid than the other, but that's not something you will find out from what anyone could tell you here.

OP here! We have been looking at houses in both neighborhoods! We are trying to decide between which, based on pros and cons at this point. We have also decided that if we need to rent until, we will! We just believe that schools are too important not to factor into this decision within the next year or two!

+1. And if you are moving IB, then find a house first (one that is IB for either school). Both schools are great, and the housing choices are likely the limiting factor.

We are looking into possibly switching our kids out of Private Pre K and having them go to public next year. We have narrowed it down to two schools for K. Does anyone have any opinions on which is better, or are the basically the same? Any info about anything with help! (teachers, staff, kids, families, aftercare options, field trips, etc.)
