so we're talking about a school senior class of 500-600 kids and only 30 got into Uva? (Actually, that's pretty consistent with what I know of our large, relatively high SES, FCPS high school).

Yes, its the one piece of the puzzle kids keep pretty close to the vest.... unless they scored really well.

Are you a school employee?



This was the pattern for our high school last year, although it was smaller. Only a handful got in EA. No one RD

Test scores are key, though, and might explain a few things about this picture.

No, just a parent. DC got in EA. DC and friends were following closely last night and have various groupmes and chats that include about 100 kids that applied to UVA - both EA deferred and RD kids. Most, but certainly not all, were IB diploma candidates. Most had wgpa of 4.0 and above. Noone really divulged test scores. Majority was waitlisted.
