Can you stay where you are? It doesn't sound like you can afford to move here and take the new job.

I would be seriously suspicious of an in-home provider charging less than $250 per week for full-time care of a kid under 4. That is shady cheap.

I think out in Loudoun she can probably find someone for $15/hour, but there's still taxes and overtime to be paid on top of that. For 50 hours a week, before taxes, that is still more than daycare.

OP, you aren't going to find full time childcare for less than $250/child per week. $3000 for all 3 of them in full time care is a bargain here.

You are going to have to adjust your budget in other areas, rent a less expensive place, have you or your partner get a second job at night or on weekends, etc.

Western Loudon county or the Chantilly area is where I am looking. Chesterbrook, Bean Tree, and Goddard were just insane, lol.

And thank you for that information regarding the Nanny and hours needed, I totally forgot to incorporate that. I will not be going the nanny route then, lol.

Why not get a nanny? For 36k surely you can get a nanny in this area. Inhome daycare spots for 3 kids are hard.

Where in Loudoun are you looking? We're in the Ashburn area and our daycare for an infant and preschooler with the sibling discount is 2300/month. This is in a large church-affiliated center that we love, and I know from our initial search that Chesterbrook, Bean Tree, and Goddard are more expensive than this. If you are looking in the Leesburg area and west it will be slightly less expensive, but not by much. As others have mentioned, you will be hard pressed to find in-home care for much less than 200 a week.

Care.com is very active in this area and I have several friends who found a Nanny this way. There's also a lot of au pairs in the area though I don't have specific references for that.

If you go the nanny route think through what you are going to pay - and what you are going to get for that.

How many hours a week do you need care for? Let's pretend 40. For 3 kids you are going to pay at least $20 an hour. That is $800 a week. Now you need to pay SS and FICA - another 6%. Anything over 40 hours is time and a half.

So for a month with 4 weeks in it, you are paying $3400 a month.

How much do you make? That is SAHM time.

That's really cheap for 3 of that age.

My DC is at a home daycare in Loudoun at $250 per week. I don't think you'll find anything much less expensive than that. I was paying nearly twice that in a center in dowtown DC. You may want to check into getting a nanny if you have 3.

That's $250 a week per kid... you're likely not getting anything cheaper than that. I'm in an inhome daycare in Loudoun for $200 a week, but it's hard to find one with 3 spots available at the same time.

Can anyone provide guidance as to where to find affordable daycare in this area? Relocating and OMGGGGG I have call countless centers and they are asking for no less than $3k for three under the age of 4. I know, I know... its just gonna suck because I have three toddlers, but goodness. The area I am coming from was half this cost...
