My advice is ask for the homeroom teacher (TA, STAR, whatever it's called at the school) be one of the core class teachers. This makes a huge difference as they meet daily and it's nice for your child to have a teacher that knows them.

With all that's going on with Arlington schools in general and allegedly with one middle school in particular (per another thread) I can't believe anyone wouldn't focus on Fairfax.
