And you can't beat passive index investing. We all have our limitations, LOL @ you!

You're laughing at someone who made more in five years than folks here will make in a lifetime? Enjoy those step increases and associate "bonuses."

Yes, I am real impressed by an anonymous message board poster who seemingly can't spell. You either are the PP or you are an idiot who believes any fairy tale someone tells you.

Man I retired at 31 and got a lot of shit for it on here. 1.2!!! That's young.

Probably not even potty trained yet.

We don't make that much every year but have three times. DH usually makes somewhere around 600-750k with bonus. Then a few times he was gifted a 6 figure equity grant. When it vests, we are allowed to sell some which put us over the 7 figure line a couple times. This is how we built up our net width to 3 mil and paid off our mortgage and other debt by 35.

What do you do now, OP? That might help with some realistic options for you.

But, yes, most everyone in my life who has made serious money started their own business and had a big break of some kind. You could do some kind of entrepreneurial workshop to get some ideas started. I think Stanford has a summer program.

Op here. Well, at 36 years old, I think I'm too late to be enrolling in a medical school. So far, seems like starting a business is my only way?

I make 600k and I feel I've reached my glass ceiling if I don't try something else. At this point, it's not about money anymore, I just want to know if I can!

Hedge guy, okay yeah, your job clearly explains it and I have to admin, I don't have what it takes to do your stuff.

23:41, was it stressful? Did you know you would clear 150k the first year? What pushed you to continue? Any second guess during the first 6 years?

I started a nursing staffing company and sold it 12 years later. My first year I cleared maybe 150k and made 7 figures by my 6th year.

I was just reading another thread on people who makes mid to high 6 figures, cool thread, but still somewhat expected like business owners, big laws, etc. The one person who made $1.9 mil working for a big tech company really inspired me.

So for those who makes minimum $1 mil a year, how did you do it and what can I do to reach where you are at? I have no friends in my circle who makes nearly that much, help me break out of this cycle. lol.

Serious question.
