Unfortunately, it is more likely to be down to your age. I am not on the pill but have gained more cellulite over the last couple of years. When you go over 40, your stomach will join in the wobbly party too.

Why did you ask the question if you only wanted someone to say what you wanted to hear? Your belief is based on a number of crappy internet sources. As I said in my PP, I've been on estrogen for 10 years in my 20s and for 2 1/2 months in my 40s. No cellulite on my thighs whether I was 110 or 120 (I'm 5'1). Maybe a dimple or two on my butt when I was at my highest weight. If you firmly believe the estrogen caused you to have cellulite, stop it and see what happens. You know what has a better chance of causing cellulite? Pregnancy.

No. Cellulite has nothing to do with birth control and everything to do with your skin losing elasticity and showing fat more. Want to reduce the appearance of cellulite- quit running and do weight lifting. Adding muscle will hide cellulite. Running is doing nothing to firm up your fat which is what cellulite is.

Estrogen causes cellulite. But withholding estrogen doesn't make it go away, I'm afraid.

I just did a google search and I wouldn't trust any of the sources that came up. "The Holy Kale," really? I don't think I'd trust anything this person has to say other than how to make a salad. Certainly nothing pertaining to my ovaries. The one source that at least strikes me as having a reputation to maintain was Oprah, who's article was on MYTHS regarding cellulite. The first myth was that it is caused by birth control. That said, I started the pill in January and, while I haven't gained weight, am having a hell of a time meeting my New Year's resolution of losing 10 pounds. It's tempting to blame the pill since I'm eating better than I have in years AND continuing a fairly aggressive workout schedule, but Dr. Google tells me that's an outdated, refuted myth about the pill too. Realistically, I should probably blame the fact that I'm 40. FWIW, my weight has fluctuated over the years, but for some reason, I don't get cellulite anywhere not covered by my bathing suit. Even during the 10 years or so I was on the pill before having kids.

If you google birth control and cellulite, many sources come up that show that there is, in fact, a connection, especially on a pill that contains estrogen.

Basically overnight? Within less than one month of taking the pill, which is known to cause cellulite? I don't really believe you and I'm curious if you have any actual experience with an estrogen pill and cellulite?

I've been on a BC that is a generic for Seasonique since August of last year. I am going off it because I have so much spotting, it's ridiculous. I'm not sure if I am going to go on any birth control as my next option (I need an ultrasound to check if it's due to another issue). When I started this birth control, I got CRAZY cellulite. I'm 37, so I know part of it may be age, but it literally cropped up within three weeks of starting the pill. I am very active--I run over 30 miles a week, I try to lift two days, and I play softball. It's also been impossible to lose any weight, even with eating better and running more. For women who also got cellulite from birth control, did it go away when you stopped? If so how long did it take? I've hated my legs for months now and I'm dying to get back to normal.
