Where did you hear it? You can try googling that combo, even if it's a commercial. How do you know it's famous? If by chance you heard it on the local classical music station, WETA, they have a daily playlist.

PS please post back if you figure it out. I love classical music and for some reason very curious!

Try a few of the websites where you can hum it. You need to be decently in tune and have at least 10 seconds of the song.

Where and in what context did you last hear it? Do you think it sounds more 18c or 19c? Might it be Vivaldi?

A famous violin concerto or symphony... yet I've trawled Youtube and can't find the one I have in mind. The melody I remember may not be at the beginning of the piece, actually, which makes it even harder.
Ugh. Hummed it to my husband and he had no clue.

What can I do?!
