This is what I fear. This, or nuclear holocaust, is the worst case scenario and this one actually seems pretty likely.

One big issue is that I want the response to be measured.

I want the United States to tell Russia to cut it out and stop playing with Ukraine. In the long run, though, I want warm peace with Russia. My fear is that Russia has gotten way in over its head and might somehow start a hot war.
