For Marshall You need at least a 1.1 to get a new home in pimmit hills or a used newer home in Dunn loring or Vienna.

Np. Plus, here, 850K-900K isn't really a "healthy budget."

My kids are at Marshall. It is diverse, in a good way. We know some Jewish families, but not a single military family. I think that person may have been confused. Most of the military families in the area are concentrated at Lake Braddock and Robinson.

If you want jewish families, my experience is there is a larger population feeding in to Freedom Hill than any other school in Vienna. I am not sure of the prices.

We are members of TRS and live in NW Vienna, and are very happy with it. But TRS is not a big part of our life any more.

hard to find. We were house hunting last year in Vienna and for $900k -- you get very little. If you can find something that has an actual 2 car garage and updated bathrooms in that price point, you should jump on it. We were opposed to IB, so we were looking only in Madison zone (not that there's anything wrong with IB/Marshall). The ones in the $750 range had closed off kitchens. There was one backing to Flint Hill school that had three baths up, but they were all "original" 1960s baths with 1 in pastel tiles and it sold for $900+ (it had a huge back yard). Another over near the east on Onondio sold for almost $900 with open kitchen, but a 2 car carport and a tiny master bath and one other bath upstairs.

You are looking for something that is very hard to find in Vienna -- 3 baths up. I think there was something like that over off of upper lawyers, but it had a very weird layout. That's usually the trade off... very odd additions if you can find 3 baths up.

OP, we are in a neighborhood that is zoned for Shrevewood/Kilmer/Marshall. My kids are both in Shrevewood now. We are a Jewish family, and there are very few Jewish families at Shrevewood. However, looking at our temple's list of Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, I would say 1/4 or so attend Kilmer, so they are out there sprinkled among the feeder schools. Shrevewood itself is quite diverse.

From what I hear, it's pretty easy to transfer between Marshall and Madison by stating preference for either IB or AP.

I'd consider Shouse Village near Wolf Trap. It is zoned for McLean.
