Just look online at the dealers websites. Some post prices. I was buying a car from a dealer with posted prices (which I renegotiated) and the salesman told me that most people don't even look online and pay more than the online listed price.

OP, not sure your location, but we've always used mileone stores. They pay their sales people an hourly wage, on top of commission. It makes a huge difference. You won't get hassled as much since they aren't strictly commission based.

OMG, just emailing dealers and I got better prices than the car buying services initial quotes.

Just read an Edmund's article, email a few dealers and you'll start getting calls and quotes. You can buy a car in a weekend and get a good price. No big deal.

We bought a used Mazda at Fitzgerald about three years ago, and it was no haggle. Good experience and good price.

We bought a new $19K 2010 Mazda 5 in late 2010 from the dealership south of DC, after sending a couple of emails. I had emailed a few dealerships and set them against each other. We went, the car was waiting for us, price was as promised by email. Negotiations were all done by email, not in person.

Do not go to the Rockville Mazda 5! The manager there is very aggressive and we felt uncomfortably pressured.

Yeah I would probably just do Carmax again. Or look into that Carvana thing with the annoying commercials.

On the off chance you have USAA, they have prenegotiated prices on their website.

You're just looking to buy a Mazda? Go to Carmax.

We are in Maryland and willing to drive to any reasonable location. We bought a Camry from Carmax in the past but would like to buy a Mazda now. We are in a crunch and do not have time to research prices and enter into negotiations with a car sales person. We need to keep it as simple as possible, but also get as best deal as possible. I know Fitzgerald Auto Mall sells a variety of new cars. Where would you go in a similar situation?
