At my firm, the pay raise hit your paycheck mid-Feb, but backdated to Jan. 1.

Date varied by firm. Most start billing you at the next year's rate in September when the new first year's arrive, but don't pay you at the next class rate until January.

In terms of a lateral entering at an off time, I would expect you to get your raise with your class and not have to wait. So if you joined a firm in July as a third year, I would expect you would go to a fourth year, whenever your classmates did, even if that was less than a year. But you should nail that down specifically, especially if you enter close to a transition time.

Usually January but I suppose it could vary by firm.

Which month do big law raises take effect? If you start at the firm in the middle of the year, do you get the raise when it's implemented or do you have to reach a full year of employment to get it? Thanks.
