my IL's and my rents will never ever let me or my wife pay for things like dinners (we are 43-50) as it is I have to sneak out and grab the server and slip them my credit card on the sly to ever get to pay for things...

is frustrating as they've done so much for us, and every now and again i want to be able to return the favor.

but I'd juts suck it up and pay the full bill...

My parents would be completely offended if we paid the bill. My MIL expects us to pay it. Different between families.

My parents would be completely offended if we paid the bill. My MIL expects us to pay it. Different between families.

This makes the most sense, assuming parents and aunt/uncle offer to pay (which is generally what would happen in my family).

In my family, my parents would just pay (they are generous and well off).

If your parents and aunt/uncle are comfortable, I would either:

a) You and your parents split the whole cost.

b) Everyone pays for themselves except you pay for sister + husband
