We took the bumper off once she started moving but not completely mobile and then put it back once she was completely mobile. I couldn't say enough about how much we love our Bratt decor crib, but that's just the style that we prefered.

Agree about the pretty bedding, go to Pottery Barn outlet or something and get it there. Our daughter threw up all over her bumper when she was first born and we were really happy we hadn't spent a fortune on it. The crib however was/is worth every penny. We will have it forever and I can pass it to one of my kids one day. It breaks down and can be stored easily under a bed or something in the future.
