Texting the next day is actually pretty quick, in my opinion.

You might get a lot of women here insisting it's rude not to respond as quickly as possible, but this is bad advice. Responding too quickly seems desperate.

As other posters have mentioned, she may not be interested. I would just assume this is the case and keep looking.

Timing was,right but truth is she isn't interested. Sometimes it's just easier to give a number rather than seem rude and say no. How do you know she even gave you her real number? I've done this before it's easy - guy thinks he scored and well sorry the number I gave you isn't going to text back.

Could be she's just not that into you. Giving your her number was best way to handle your unexpected request and she didn't think fast enough to provide a fake one.

Call and if you get her VM then leave a light and friendly message. I would mention sending a text and on the outside chance it didn't get through I thought I would give you a quick call. I enjoyed our time at the market and was sincere about getting together for a drink and spend some time continuing. Hope all is well and to hear from you when you have a moment. Keep it simple and brief. If she doesn't get back to you let it go. There could be a lot more going on with her that has nothing to do with you.

I don't think you waited too long. It was the weekend. It's nuts if she expected an immediate convo. If she's seriously pissed about this, she seems unhinged enough that she'd be nuts to date. Consider yourself lucky.

Met a woman at a grocery store saturday early evening, we chatted, i told her we should continue this over drinks sometime - she says sure, here's my number....
i text her the next evening saying 'hey it's larlo from last night at the grocery store..good weekend?...let's meet up for drinks sometime on weds or thurs".

no response.

a friend of mine said i should've texted her later on saturday night and by sunday evening it was too late.
