For years I have been using a round barrel brush and my hair dryer to straighten it and then pass the flat iron over it. It works, but it is time consuming to dry my hair that way. And while it does get really straight it also frizzes up a bit and looks a bit flat.

I saw a new product - a hair brush that is a flat iron combination - and I tried that thinking it would work. It did not fully straighten my hair, especially near the roots.

Then I decided to try a different new tool - a hair brush/dryer combo - and I was skeptical. I got the one made by Revlon from Target, it was $50 or so.

Well I was very pleasantly surprised that it works so well! It straightens my hair, but keeps it smooth and full, and it takes half the time! I am really happy I tried it.

Wow I have the EXACT same type of hair you do and I just bought the Revlon dryer/brush yesterday! I tried it for the first time this morning and I've been marveling all day at how good my hair looks (for once) and how easy it was. I feel like it dried a lot faster too, compared to using just a regular dryer. My hair is so much more wavy/curly than it used to be before I had kids, and I've never really learned how to style it well, so I'm really excited!

I tried both -- just like you -- the flat iron brush was terrible, the blow dry brush was excellent.

I see the ad. Thanks for the tip, OP! I just tried my first keratin a couple months ago but it made my hair flat and my scalp flaky. Will try this new tool!

I don't see an ad either.

It is the Revlon One Step Hairdryer and Volumizer.

I don't seen the ad. OP - can you post a link to it? I have the exact same type of hair you described, and I would love something that takes shorter!

I have longish (past my shoulders) thick hair that is neither straight nor curly. Kind of wavy but not in a good way.

For years I have been using a round barrel brush and my hair dryer to straighten it and then pass the flat iron over it. It works, but it is time consuming to dry my hair that way. And while it does get really straight it also frizzes up a bit and looks a bit flat.
