Definitely Call the Midwife. My own 76 year old Catholic mom loves it. I like it too. There are a lot of seasons, but you don't necessarily need to watch through to the end. Each episode has its own story, for the most part.

OOOHHHH, sorry - I thought you just meant no explicit sex ala Game of Thrones. Whoopsie.
Mercy Street may fit the bill - Civil War hospital set in Alexandria - mostly non-problematic - but even that has one of the nurses sitting in bed with one of the doctors, and a freed slave being raped (not graphic, but you definitely know whats going on underneath all the petticoats) It's story appropriate and, again, not graphic, but if she's prudish probably not a good match. Hmmm... maybe Call the Midwife - although that also at least discusses sex (it is about birthing babies after all). What about reality tv - like Cake Boss or Chopped? Also, Planet Earth 2 (on BBC America and AMC) is FANTASTIC.

Promise her that it means *nothing* but binge on Sarah Jessica Parker's series on HBO 'Divorce' (not the confusing similar "Girlfriends guide to Divorce") It is an engaging funny, poignant, sad, provocative show (urgh - I guess two brief naked sex scenes if that would be uncomfortable) but great actors you don't expect in it, only 30min so you aren't staying up too late. I just finally had time to watch and saw in 3 nights.

Way more violent than the Crown. My MIL wouldn't be a fan, but my MIL is more into the G/PG type shows.

Sorry in advance if my list isn't Netflix exclusive. A lot of these, you can get on cable television or online (e.g. PBS website, etc) Just looking to offer a period drama spin on your question!
- Downton Abbey; total mustsee if you haven't already.
- Mercy Street; takes place in Alexandria during the Civil War, focuses on many aspects of the war but is centered around a Union hospital (obviously, some violence/discussion of violence is presence due to the nature of war)
- Indian Summers; takes place in 1930s India, focuses on the wealthy British ruling class and the increasingly revolutionary Indians that serve them (be warned, some sex scenes)
- The Durrells of Corfu; beautiful show, no need to worry about awkward moments. Only one season so far, though!
- Victoria; great look at an earlier British queen that draws many parallels to The Crown. Just finishing up its first season.
- Doctor Thorne; short and sweet miniseries based off the book
- Poldark; great show with great characters. Except some raunchier scenes though
- Land Girls; interesting series taking place during WW2. Not violent and worth a watch.

My mother in law is coming to help me with our kids while DH is away. We usually have from 7-10 at night on the couch together. Fun times!
Last visit we watched The Crown, which was perfect. Engaging, not violent, no sex. No awkwardness.
Any other suggestions? Movies, shows...? Documentaries, shows, movies are fine. Nothing with a lot of seasons, since she is only here for a week. I don't want to start an 8 season show and send her home and leave her hanging.
