I am currently on Phentamine, covered by my insurance. 60 days in. Still working great. Have lost more than 30 lbs in 60 days but I have also taken the diet very seriously, tracked calories and added a lot of exercise. Doctor said 90 days, maybe 120 if things were going well. Have to go back once a month to get BP checked and get weighed. Will see what happens after the 120 days but life with an appetite suppressant is bliss. I am just not tempted at all by food and normally a big glass of water gets me over any twinge of hunger. A lot of times, I have to eat even though I am not hungry.

Wish I could stay on it forever.

I got just phen from my internist. The generic was only $30/month about 3 years ago. The only thing is it stops working after 3 months and you have to take a break and can start again. Second round didn't work as well and eventually I gained it all back.

Dr anchors is a strange man and his sister who,is his receptionist is seriously strange. I couldn't deal with having to listen to her talk about her pets. I think she has some problems. But... I go for the drugs. He just talks and talks and really I just want the what can. Eat and what not to eat but he just blabs about French women bla bla bla. The man is strange.

I don't think he does tele-consultations. But I could be wrong. I'm sure he has contacts (physicians) in your area he can recommend though. I'd call his office and ask.

You need a combination of the Phentermine and the Prozac (or a low dose of one of the following: Zoloft, Celexa, Luvox , trazadone or Effexor) because the Phentermine by itself stops working after a few weeks. The second medicine helps it work longer / better.

I had no issues with withdrawal or anything, and when I asked my mom and aunt, neither did they. But it's obviously different for everyone. In our cases, none of us had any issues.

I also don't understand why the Prozac part scares you. If anything, more people are afraid of phentermine. I've never seen someone be afraid of the opposite.

PP here. I honestly don't remember what it was. $160ish when I had gone to him, maybe? Around there? It wasn't bad for the visit + 3 months of pills. If you call on Monday, his receptionist can tell you exactly what the price is right now. She's a sweetheart. I seriously adore her.

Phen alone with no Prozac I think was 150.

Does it still work without the Prozac? The thought of taking that scares me.

Is it a huge difference in taking it with the Prozac versus the without?

Mine isn't covered but it's not that expensive at all.

So my mom and aunt both went to Dr. Anchors and got on PhenPro. My mom (5'5") went from 196 to 136 in what seemed like no time. My aunt (5'7") went from somewhere in the 180's to in the 120's. Both my dad and uncle are physicians and neither had any problem w/ my mom and aunt going on PhenPro. They did blood work ahead of time (Dr. Anchors doesn't do blood work) and they monitored their BP regularly and did blood work monthly while both were on it.

I used it regularly once after a deep depression due to a bad breakup (with Dr. Anchors) and I went from 166 pounds to 118 pounds. Again, dad did blood work before, during, and after, and had me track my BP, but that was it.

It's not a miracle pill duo though. You have to put in the work. And the work involves changing how you eat. During your appointment, he will provide you with his book and materials. He will walk you through what a typical plate should look like, and what portion sizes should be. You can't just take the pills but eat like crap. You do need to "buy into" what he teaches you. If you do, I guarantee you will see a huge difference. And it'll help motivate you, as you see the pounds coming off.

The only thing I'd suggest is checking w/ your regular doc - the ones who has you on stabilizing meds for your thyroid. You need to tell them anything you are thinking of going on to make sure it doesn't interfere w/ your thyroid function and the meds that are stabilizing it. This is the most important thing of all!

I feel like I'm at the end of my wits here. I'm 35, 5'5, 210. I have a young toddler DH is loving and supportive but also extremely busy. I work nights and weekends, and because of this, I have no childcare, which wreaks havoc because I work 50+ hours/week. I don't sleep much, and that's sapping my energy for exercising. I feel like I'm failing, and even with WW, my progress is slow.

I would love to get pregnant again, but I know I can't do it at my current weight. My thyroid is essentially kaput, too, but I'm on meds for that and stabilized.

Yes, I know I'm obese. Yes, I know I'm disgusting to many, many people. I hear about it all the time, especially from my extended family (luckily, not from DH). I was a healthy BMI when I got pregnant, but now I'm really having trouble.

I know Phen Pro isn't a miracle fix, but I feel like I need something to boot me in the right direction. I feel like if I had less weight, I'd have more energy to do the things I need to do to maintain a healthy body.

I'd love to hear from others who went to Dr. Anchors for the Phen Pro, or who didn't but were successful with other methods.
