pretty much any recipe, stroganoff, rice pilaf, roasts, stews, soups, I make split pea soup twice a week (kids love it) it takes 35 minutes, melt in your mouth roast is about 40-45 minutes, stew about 35 minutes, check pintrest for ideas

I LOVE soft-boiled eggs and heard it was easiest in the InstaPot.

If I am doing 1 or 2 eggs I use the electric kettle but if you're doing a batch for deviled eggs there is no substitute. Something about pressure cooking makes the shells come away so easily.

Count me in as someone also who doesn't need an appliance to cook eggs. I wake up in the morning and put on the water kettle. I make coffee. 60 seconds later water boils and i put it in a pan and turn the hear on. Add two eggs, put lid on and turn it off. I come back to get the eggs as I'm walking out the door for work.

An appliance to do this, really?

Tonight I had no ideas. I dumped in frozen chicken legs and cup of stock and onion soup mix. 15 min. Removed chicken, added more stock to get to two cups total, added a cup of lentils. 15 min. Added the chicken back and kept warm until people were ready to eat. That's why I like it - you can really use whatever is handy and it will be fine even if you have nothing defrosted.

Dont have an instapot, but i do have a traditional pressure cooker. I use it at least 2xs a week. Last night I made pork broth with lemongrass and ginger and will snack all week on wonton/cabbage soup. I make all sorts of broths (when in a rush, i feel that low and slow on the stove yields a superior product), curries, stews, and beans. I've been using my pressure cooker for 20 years, so I'm sorry to tell you that all my recipes are in my head and i normally just make them up as i go.

I use mine a lot for hard boiled eggs and steel cut oats. The egg shells just fall off.

Love brown rice and hard boiled eggs, both seem to come out much better. Whole chickens work well, too.

Bump, got the Instant Pot a few months ago, but havn't tried using it yet.

Most things you would normally slow cook, braise, etc. are great for pressure cooking. Think stews and tough cuts of meat. I love pulled pork in the IP, also chili and beef stew. Have made a yummy cheeseburger macaroni dish where you put the pasta in uncooked - actually turned out al dente, surprisingly! Tried risotto which was a bit drier than I would have liked, but still tasty.

I have yet to try one of the hallmarks of IP cooking, the hard boiled egg, but it's on my list!

I now have an Instant Pot. So far I am pleased but I have noticed some meats and veggies overcook so I am still getting the hang of it.

What are your favorite recipes?
