+1 -- that's what we did.

What sort of driving will you be doing at your destination, though? Usually we'd just travel to and from airport/hotel, with the occasional other short trip.

We use the Maestro for travel too. It's not a very tall seat but it fits our 4.5 yo

We got the cheap evendflo but I would not put a 4.5 year old in one nor a no back booster. Get an evendflo securekid.

OP, I have a 5yo with pretty identical stats. We use an Evenflo Maestro for travel--it's a harnessed seat that converts to a booster. Not very expensive and super lightweight; we also have a 2yo and just stack the two seats in an umbrella stroller, but you could easily carry it or bungee it on to a rolling suitcase too. Bubblebum is great for later when he's in a booster at home, but I wouldn't get one for a 4yo who is still in a harness otherwise.

How old is your child. How tall? And how much does he or she weigh?

We need a high back booster for travel. Do I just get the cheapest/lightest one? Are they pretty much all the same?
