It's the miscarriage rate that is higher, I would prepare for that...it may take a couple tries.
I had 3 miscarriages during the year I was 35. Conceived each within 1-2 months of trying, miscarried all of them. It sucked. Finally had to get intervention (Femara and IUI) to ovulate earlier and will deliver baby #2 a couple months before I turn 37. (Had baby #1 at 33 -- also only took 2 months to conceive and I had no idea how lucky I was!)
If you are 35 and TTC, OP, make sure you read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and track your cycles using cervical mucus and OPKs (ovulation kits), and temping as well if you are serious. This will maximize your chances of conceiving quickly. And if it doesn't happen you will have all the data to present to a doc if you need help. Good luck.
