Funny, we make $160k with two kids and don't feel poor. Maybe you have weird / jerk friends.

I literally don't know any Joneses. I guess that is why I do not feel the need to keep up with the Jones' possessions. I will not be keeping up with the Joneses of the world.

I can understand this. 225k is a great, comfortable income, but in this area, a LOT of highly educated households make that much and a lot more. It would be worth it for you to try to expand your social circle to include families with lower HHI.

What do you do with all of that $? Seriously? I assume you do not have before or aftercare costs. Do not need to drop 10K over the summer for camps. Can menu plan so that you are not doing take out. Can shop sales for groceries and clothing. Are able to get the car in for scheduled maintenance when you should as opposed to 2 months later. Shop around for less expense tires when you need replacements.

You need to get over yourself. You never truly know what someone else's finances are like.

Focus on your family.

Get new friends. I hope for the sake of your marriage you don't share with your DH what you think of his salary.

Move to a more affordable part of the country and you will be happier.

No. I earn $75k. I am paying out of pocket for DD's second round of braces. In the last 10 years I've been on a plane twice, and once was for a funeral. I am a single mother who works full time and lives in a one-bedroom crappy apartment. So no, I do not relate to you at all.

Get some perspective, some gratitude, and maybe a job.

Correct. You only make more than 95% of households in the richest country on the planet. It's practically the poor house!
