Yeah, but the gross-out factor is 100% homophobia. Or, you know, the important 54%.

As mentioned above, it's not a policy based on great science. (Canada has just lowered its waiting period for men who have had sex with men from five years to one.)

But the risk of transmission for men who have safe sex with a small quantity of men or whom are monogamous in long term relationships is lower than a heterosexual man who has unprotected sex with many women. As a society we are okay with men loving other men and perhaps even kissing, but not okay with them actually having sex.

Why is it a woman can sleep with as many woman/men that she cares to but if a man should have any relations with another man, he is disqualified? They are already testing the blood, why exclude a group?
