I love the concept of the lammily dolls, I just wish there was more fit to the clothing.

The period pack is great too!

OP here--thanks all! I ended up ordering a variety of dolls based on the recs here, including a couple of the Lottie dolls (had never heard of these) along with a couple of the Barbie fashionista line of dolls--first time ever buying a Barbie, but I like the one with blue hair! For anyone unfamiliar, this line includes a variety of ethnicities and body shapes, including petite and curvy. Here's the blue-haired one:

Also bought a couple of Marvels Avengers action figures, just to mix it up a little. Thanks all!

There isn't much selection, but Lammily dolls are supposed to be more realistic.

I recommend this line as a dyed-in-the-wool feminist who grew up playing with Barbies and still loves them.

We got DD this type for Christmas. Without knowing it! I think it's great.

There's always 'bratz' ha ha j/k.

Can anyone recommend a good doll line for a 5yo who just got a large dollhouse for Christmas? Should be around the same height as Barbie, or slightly smaller, given dollhouse dimensions. I don't like Barbie for the typical reasons (unrealistic body proportions, etc.) so looking for something else. Bonus if doll line has diverse ethnicities (child is African American).

Thank you!
