DC as a city has a pretty high college-going rate. College graduation is a different story.

I don't. Tell me.

I am confident if you were at signing day earlier this week, you did not see any DC license plates in the parking lot

they should be counting those

but the question is why is Friendship not educating these students? They are able to get these Maryland kids on the football field .....

Kind of. UDC has an appalling completion rate, as do some other low end colleges (especially the predatory for-profit ones). I'm not sure I'd use that as a measure of success, especially if the kids are being pushed into college.

So Fox spun this to be some great charter school story without disclosing all the fraud? Shocking.

They're likely counting acceptances to community college and UDC.

I find it interesting:
11% of the students score a "proficient or above" for PARCC exam for ELA
3% scored a "proficient or above" for math

100% have been accepted to college

Everyone knows what happens there. It s a better news story that they have 17 football scholarships than the fraud on DC residents.

Wait, WHAT? How...?

When the acceptance letters came in, he didn't even know he'd applied to two of the colleges!

12:28 here: that's the other thing. He hadn't been a DC resident since preschool!

I saw Fox-5 news report about Friendship Public Charter High School football team seniors; I think 17 of players are receiving full scholarships to their colleges. That speaks volumes as it shows they have the grades and SAT scores as well. But when the reporter stated that all 200 seniors are accepted into college, I was extremely pleased.

I know being accepted does not mean "attending" but I hope it makes you smile.
