With the announcement that Senators Collins and Murkowski have flipped on DeVos, we're now only ONE VOTE short of thwarting her nomination. But Republicans in the Senate know we're close to scuttling DeVos, so they're trying to rush her through today or tomorrow. We need to act fast.
Why Devos is unfit for the job. DeVos is another one of Trump’s crony cabinet picks that has tried to buy her way into the Administration. She would gut our education system if confirmed.
• DeVos has ZERO experience in public education
• Devos doesn’t care about addressing the student debt crisis
• She made over $1 million in campaign contributions to Senators voting on her nomination
• She wants to destroy public education and funnel tax dollars away to private schools instead
• She wants to stop federal support for students with disabilities
Even Republicans aren’t support her. Trump is quickly losing votes in his own party – Republican Senators Collins and Murkowski have already said they will vote against DeVos. This means if ONE more Republican votes her against her, she won’t be confirmed.
We can stop this confirmation. We need to show up at district offices. If you can, make a recording or picture and share it widely. Tag your Senator and us. #StandIndivisble.
Also, we need to make immediate calls to DC and district offices.
