I'd bring birth certificates (along with my passport obviously) and the name of a good lawyer even if you are a citizen and especially if you're not white. They were blocking green card holders who are legal, so there's that. Citizens are next. It seems to be an act first, and apologize later, type of administration. So just because it is illegal doesn't mean they won't do it.

I'm an immigrant myself, and a naturalized citizen, and I'm concerned. I don't think I would alter already-made travel plans, but now might not be a good time to schedule a visit to my country of origin.

Make sure you take the name and phone number of a good immigration lawyer with you in your wallet. Be prepared to wait it out at the airport. Other than ,making that contingency plan, I wouldn't worry about it.

They might question you. They can’t “bar” you from entering based on your political affiliation.

I'm leaving the country today, returning end of the week. I'm not worried about it as I am not a citizen of one of the named countries, although did live in one for several years. I am also not vocal on Facebook or other social media.

I usually close my wall down when traveling so no one who knows I'm gone will comment about it (don't broadcast we are traveling on Facebook like a lot of people). Maybe it's a good idea tob just suspend your account and delete the app from your phone instead. Not sure of Twitter functions as I don't use Twitter.

Assuming you mean critical on social media. Not sure how they'd have any dirt on you otherwise.

These are strange times.

Another family with some concerns. We're going to Europe this year, and two of us have Arabic first names and African last names. However, hoping all is well since we're American citizens.

I am going to Europe in 3 weeks and this has crossed my mind as a concern, too.

You can definitely be detained and questioned for some very long periods of time despite doing nothing even remotely illegal.

If you have been openly critical about the Trump administration, what are your thoughts on this concern? If you are an American citizen and are interested in traveling internationally (for leisure or business), do you have concerns about things shifting, and experiencing difficulty getting through immigration when arriving back in the US?

What if you are a person of color, or with less than "white" roots, and have a non-Anglo name? Is this far-fetched or something to be concerned about when making international travel plans?
