Because men never do this with "high earner" women.

Comparison is the thief of joy.
Money isn't everything.
Cliche, but true.

Think about what you value and then make some SMART goals. If you have a college degree you will be able to find a better path.

I feel so crappy because here I am at 30 making 30k a year as a contractor. I got fired from my last job and had the worst year of my life last year. I am stuck in a shitty admin loop.

My younger brother who is 25 just got a job offer today for 60k a year plus commission. I literally cried when I heard. Now I feel like the loser older sibling.

If you consider "losing" as only related to earnings, then you will always be the loser older sibling. If he is in a higher paying field, then he will always earn more than you. You need to focus on something else to value your self-worth. Money isn't everything.

What kind of work do you want to do? You need to figure out what you want to do for a living and work towards that.

Sales is a tricky field. It really takes a certain personality to be successful.

Your only 30... you are still young enough to make a career change, go back to school or move.. so many options.

That sucks. What industry? Any chance you can get a job that helps pay for more school? Another degree (law) was the only way I was able to get out of the admin thing and start making some money, which of course came with tons of student debt.

non profits. Literally an invoice paying excel spreadsheets loop I can't break out of. I finally decided to apply to technology sales but kept getting rejected. My younger brother applied and got hired instantly.

I'm sorry. That's like a double-blow. Yes, try to fill in the missing info. PP asked about and maybe you can get some good advice here.

It sucks, especially living in this area. as expensive as it is. Not to be snarky, but you may want to consider moving to a less expensive area to live in. so you 30K goes a bit further.

What kind of background do you have? Ie college, work history, skills, ect...

Agreed. You were a worthy person before your job and you will be after it.

Welcome to my world.
33, single, work with elderly people, had to move back home.
It sucks.

Yet there is always hope in life that things can change and quite simply, all we can do is keep pushing on.
