This.

And "quality" means different things to different people, too.

This post is from 2017 so I'm sure they have the furniture they need by now.

We have gotten great stuff from crate and barrel and CB2 and you can often get discounts. Sofas and chairs, even area rugs have held up for years. West elm has better decorative pieces but big furniture items have not held up well with the exception of a kitchen table.

IKEA for the sofas. They are really decent quality for the price.

It’s the wood furniture where you will see the quality. Either get pieces like dressers from Craigslist, or the IKEA hemnes line dresser has held up well for us.

Decor items like lamps, pillows, non wood furniture, Wayfair is great. Also overstock.

Target.com especially the Threshold and Project 62 stuff I really like. Read the online reviews before buying. I love their desks for my kids’ rooms. Also, easy to return in store.

Amazon too has small stuff, if you read the reviews you should be fine.

I think anything that’s wood - like tables, dressers, etc is worth buying secondhand. Check out FB marketplace Habitat Restore, etc. I agree with you about couches and mattresses though. Those I get from Costco and Wayfair. I go to Crate and Barrel for inspiration first!

I order from Wayfair all the time. Night stands, a vanity, bathroom bench, side tables, curtains, rugs, wall decor. I have yet to be disappointed.

Currently waiting for the second part of an order.

Also like Pier 1 online. They have funky pieces, a bit high but worth it.

Ashley Furniture. We bought dressers, beds, chairs. If you have one near you, go check them out.

Don't bash Ikea until you've been there to check it out. Some items are extra cheap but others are nice solid wood pieces. It's a good place to get some quick furniture when you need it. It's also worth it to have their delivery service bring the stuff to you if you've bought a lot of items.

Belfort is great for this.

We order bunk beds and mattress from wayfair and are considering it for a couch too. I've found that the reviews are very helpful.

We recently moved into a new house we built, with 3 kids under 8 yo. Most of the new furniture we bought was from Wayfair, Houzz (some artisan pieces) and Overstock, and then for places that have actual stores Belfort and Haverty's have good selection and budget-conscious options.

Hi. Will be moving into new place with my 2 teen/tweens and need to buy new sofas, bedroom sets, dining room furniture after getting rid of what we had before moving. Looking for suggestions of where to buy furniture that will be good quality but not break the bank. I've seen the Wayfair website but have never used it and don't really know anything about it...
I'm also hesitant to buy from Craigslist bc I don't want to deal with the pickup and am a little creeped out by using a stranger's furniture, don't know what happened on couches, etc...

Would love any and all suggestions!

Thanks
