Check out nonstop flights to St Thomas leaving out of Dulles. Less than 4 hour flight.

Second vote for st Thomas close to ferry. The ritz is close by. Has a very nice protected lagoon for kid friendly snorkeling off the beach. Nothing spectacular but you see fish.

Really enjoyed Cayman Island. Nice people and nice beaches but it doesn't compare to St. Johns, which has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.


What didn't you like about Puerto Rico? Where did you stay?

I liked staying in St. Thomas near the Ferry so we could go back and forth to St. John.

We'd like to go to the islands for 4-5 days. We've never been. Family of 4 with a 7 yr old & 9 yr old and we like to have stuff to do together as a family. I don't want to be restricted to the resort and would like to be able to partake in some local culture--safety is important. Which islands would you recommend?
