No. Do I believe that railing against a stereotype of urban decay in general and Washington DC specifically, that has no basis in reality, is an easy way of scoring cheap political points with a mostly rural constituency that has little personal experience with urban life? Is there a reason, other than spite and vindictiveness, that Republicans in Congress insist on imposing their will on the people of DC, who did not vote for them? If they want to institute open carry in Congress, they certainly have my blessing to do so, but Washingtonians want gun control (among other things).
