WTF? Count me in as another who really didn't want a girl to begin with. I had sisters and our home was always a drama-filled den of chaos. I have three boys now and, although their is still chaos, it simply comes from physical activity, not manipulation and overreactions.

My DH and his brothers take very good care of their mother as she ages. I don't think your conclusion is correct.

I have two boys, and this is one of my big fears. Do you realize how unkind it is to say that about a situation over which we have no control? How cruel.

That said, my FIL took wonderful care of his mother (who had 3 boys) in her old age. At least I'm raising my sons in a household full of kindness, unlike yours.

I totally wanted a girl. I had a boy and was not particularly connected during pregnancy. They handed him to me and I fell in love, not with a sex but my beautiful baby. I couldn't have cared less about not having a girl because I'm in love with this particular boy. He is my favorite thing in the world. If I were to ever to conceive again id want another boy. If I was sad I didn't have a girl now I would have no shame saying it here, but it's just not the case. I'm guessing my experience is pretty common.

I deeply mourned not having a girl but I worked through it throughout all 3 of my pregnancies and have a really happy life. No regrets or changes desired! Gender disappointment is real but I have found its almost never long lasting in my circle of friends. Once you get the kid you get its kinda hard to unwish him! Those endorphins after birth really helped me made everything perfect and at ease. One of my kids was a 32 weeker and I really hated myself for ever caring about his gender vs if he would be healthy. I ASSUMED he would be healthy …never again will I take that for granted. Ever.

That's so weird you assume this. I have a friend with 2 girls and she's very open about wanting a boy from the beginning. How is that different

Because some people are? I very much wanted a girl, but my first was a boy. Once he came into my life, I was over the moon about being mom to a boy. I ended up hoping my second was a boy as well. But it was a girl. Now I love being a mom to both. But if I only had boys, I'm pretty sure I'd be thrilled with that as well.

How weird are your assumptions? I have two boys. I would never admit it IRL, but I'm glad because I didn't really want a girl.
