How do you say them differently? They are the same .

Nope. My HS class had a Carrie and a Kerry. One, obviously, is pronounced with an /a/ sound and the other with an /e/ sound.
Kerry rhymes with Berry.
Carrie rhymes with Larry.

Maybe I'm just out of touch, but to me, Kerry, Berry, Carrie and Larry all rhyme with each other.

+1

Nobody would be able to tell the minor differences (if any) in normal conversation.

I have a Larry in my family and a lot of people around here pronounce it as rhyming with "berry." New Yorkers tend to pronounce Carrie and Larry with the "a" sounding like the "a" in "cat" while "Kerry" would have the "berry" sound.

I've known a man named Kerry and a woman named Kerry. I've known several Carries and they were all girls or women.

The only male I knew with that name spelled it Cary like Cary Grant. I don't think he liked his name however.

I do think it is a nice name for boys, bring it back!

The spelling Kerry makes me think of 1) John Kerry but also 2) Kerry Washington.

Kerry rhymes with merry (men), while Carrie rhymes with marry (man). Its the difference between men and man.

Lovely name, the name of a beautiful county in southwestern Ireland. I have a few cousins (female) with this name.

Kerry is one of those last-names-turned-first-names. So you can use it for a boy or a girl -- both are fine.

That's my name! I love it! I'm a woman and occasionally get credit card offers sent to Mr. Kerry X, but other than that I've never been confused with a man. I think now that Kerry Washington is so famous most people associate it with her. I do have to spell my name all the time since there are so many different ways of spelling it, but that doesn't bother me, and I can handle seeing Carrie on my starbucks cup.

I've only known it as a female name.

Are you thinking of it for a boy or girl?

I'd prefer a different spelling. Carrie is nice. Kerry is just too John Kerry reminding.

Is it too unisex? I've only worked with one Kerry but for some reason any mind makes me ask male or female when I hear it. I really like something about this name.
