I've looked extensively for this (looking online at various schools' posted curriculums and have discussed with an educational consultant as well.) There aren't any MD privates that will be as strong as the publics for a very strong math kid. I've found a couple of DC privates that go beyond calculus for high school, none of which are particularly close if you live in East MoCo, as I do. St. Anselm's is one of the stronger options if you're ok with the religious aspect.

I think they were referring to no cut policy for sports. Which is true. Math program is oaky- very teacher dependent. For my child, who loves math, the pace is too slow.

That's not true. 5th graders have to test in to do pre-algebra in 6th grade (and get on the geometry track). Sometimes a handful qualify, sometimes more, depending on the class.

The school has a very old, outdated math program. The science program there is wonderful, the math not so much. Yes I had a child at the school.

Which he would already be doing in any MoCo public school. And I don't think being unathletic would go over too well at Norwood.

St. Anselm's Abbey - not in MD, but transportation options are available to get there relatively easily. Great academics and while they have sports, it is not a sport school.
