I am now looking at flights

Can someone with experience at the Miami airport let me know if you think an hour and 13 minute layover is long enough? I've never been there and would hate to miss the connecting flight. (I've already ruled out two flights w/ 43 minutes and 50 minutes in Atlanta/DFW respectively.) It seems like every flight is either a super short layover (or a ridiculously long one like 12 hours), or on an airline I'm not so sure about...LATAM, Avianca, COPA...

We stayed in Palmero Hollywood. Very fun location. We did the Casa Rosa, the zoo, the famous cemetery in Recoletta where Elvita is buried, went to the weekend street mRket, did tango lessons, walked down the widest street in South America (that has a mini looking Washington monument) and found ourselves in the middle of a peaceful political protest which was pretty interesting to see, took the ferry to Uruguay, MALBA museum, the Japanese gardens, wandered around to see the graffiti, went to Boca to see the soccer museum, just to name a few things. Have fun! Go!

Don't miss the opportunity to visit an "estancia" (ranch). The hotel probably can do arrangements with a travel agency to pick you up at the hotel and spend a whole day with gauchos. Meals and horse rides are included in the price.

I was just there last month. I loved it. I flew out of DCA on American through Miami. There is barely any time difference (by then it should be back to only 1 hour ahead) so you won't have to deal with jet lag. There is so many sites to visit, steaks and sausages to eat, museums to check out, neighborhoods to walk around in, we had a blast. And I was with kids. You should definitely go if you can go as an adult. The argentinians are SUPER nice everywhere (for example it is customary on the metro for people to immediately give up their seat for a child or someone who is pregnant, or if you ask someone for directions and they don't know, they will keep asking other people for you and pretty soon you have like 10 locals all trying to help you who seem sincerely concerned about you being lost). The beef was excellent. We did tango lessons, saw Elvira's grave, did a Malbec tasting and even wandered into a circus school recital. GO GO GO!!!

We went about 5 years ago and it was amazing. There is stuff to see, the food is terrific, the wine is amazing, there is shopping and lots of places to just hang out and get coffee. You should do it.

It's a great city! It's a lot farther than people think, and the flights are definitely pricey. I would absolutely second the get out to the countryside advice on the weekends.

Like the PP, I haven't been in a while (nearly 2 decades for me), but I remember that I loved walking through the Recoleta Cemetery (Evita is buried there), taking a tango lesson, touring through the neighborhoods and landmarks (La Boca, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo, Teatro Colon), eating meat and drinking red wine at great restaurants in Puerto Madero, and inhaling the ice cream at Freddo! We also enjoyed going out to the countryside one day to an estancia for barbecue and a gaucho show.

I would urge you to take this opportunity to visit this wonderful city!

It's fabulous. It's a very European-feeling city. When I was there over a decade ago things like food were cheap (you better like meat, though). I was part of a larger tour, so some things like "which museum is great" are a bit of a blur, but there are lots of great things to see. On the weekends you and your husband should get out into the countryside.

I haven't been but it sounds like a great opportunity to go!

My Dh has a work assignment in Buenos Aires and needs to spend 3.5 weeks there in April/early May. I am thinking of sending going to visit him sans kids. He'll be working probably 1/2 the time, 1/4 spending time/"schmoozing" with colleagues, and the rest to spend with me Obviously room will be comped, and his flights will be as well, so I'll just be paying for my own flight tickets and our/my entertainment.

1. is Buenos Aires "worth it"? The flight tickets are more expensive than I for some reason thought they'd be...~$1000 ish
2. If so, suggestions for activities to do both solo and with my husband? We're pretty flexible and have diverse interests.
