Banking is the most conservative of corporate jobs, IMO. But I did Google as you instructed and thought tons of the pictures looked great! I think as long as it's not hanging in your eyes, it'll look great.

I think for women it's not much of an issue because of how they can be worn. I think it's more of an issue for men.

One caveat to my PP (saying they look professional to me): if you have clients in more rural parts of the country, I wonder if they would have a different view. Something to keep in mind.

Had to do an image search to know what they were, but an executive VP at my company (one of only three female executives) has them.

I work in a Fortune 500 in a conservative sector and they are fine. One of our more sr staff has her hair styled that way, and she is cute generally/very photogenic, and she is in all of our internal communication material.

I do think it depends on the industry. I'm in an old school association and do the hiring. Sisterlocks wouldn't bother me. I would hardly notice.

White person hiring manager here - I love sisterlocks and think they are a fine choice even for a conservative organization.

I work in HR for a professional services firm. Lots of women in my firm (and prior firms) have had them. I think they look lovely and say go for it.

I don't have sisterlocks, but my former manager did. They looked great, very well kept. I'm not sure how non-blacks view them, but I think they are fine in a professional environment.

I work in Biglaw, there are a few lawyers here with Sisterlocks. They look great, I don't think they would hinder anything

Fortune 500 here and we have Senior VicePresident females with Sisterlocs. No hinderance. Keep a neat appearance as always and there should not be any issue.

I have been wearing my hair straight for many years (relaxed) and due to breakage caused by constant use of chemicals I am thinking about cuting it off , growing it natural ( kinky, coily) and doing a Sisrerlocks style (tiny locks)to give my scalp a break. If you dont know what SL are, please google for pics, they are different from regular deeadlocks . I am being told that this would hinder my career advancement ir ability to get a new job as locks are not professional or accepted in corporate America. I work in Finance , and consulting .. If you have any experience in HR, hiring ect could you please chime in? Would you hire someone with this hairstyle or would that make u uneasy? Also if you have SL and work in corporate America, please share your experience. TIA
