Do you even have kids?? DH and I both wanted to work (and we do) but it was heartbreaking not having a choice between working and staying home.
No kids. I recently finished grad school and have been getting my career started in DC. But I do not realistically foresee my income increasing beyond low six figures. I guess I just didn't realize this was such a deal breaker for women this day in age.
Don't look at it that way. You will find the right person. Not ALL people are concerned with these things and as there have been other threads, there are a lot of women who prefer to be ambitious and have careers. Not everyone wants to be a SAHM.

Come back and tell us how tired and stressed you are when both you and your wife work long inflexible hours, don't have time for your kids and your family is stressed. You are naive.

I'll speak for myself. We make $220 HHI together split about evenly. I would want at least that in one income to stay home. Granted in not planning on staying home. Today affords us a nice house in an area we want to live (silver spring) and sets us up for a good retirement as we save a lot. But I don't have exoensive tastes in cars or clothes.
I have coworkers who make $150k and support a SAHM and several kids. They live in a cheaper area and don't travel or eat out but seem to be very content.

DH and I make 180k and both work. It's a good income and life. So if DH made 180k-200k by himself I would easily stop working. Maybe even 150k because we wouldn't have to pay for daycare. Sadly we both make 90k...

Really depends on what else you want.
How large of a house, where the house is, what kind of car you want to drive, what kind of vacations, private schools, expensive extracurriculars like travel sports, etc.
If you are willing to live simply out in the burbs you can probably do it for $100k.
