That is a great way of putting how it feels.

Quite interesting.

That's not how this works

Maybe not for you.

My husband is a steady partner. He will likely never tap into the deeper aspects of me, despite my invitations. Early childhood trauma has him pretty closed up emotionally. We get closer as time goes on.

I've had soulful relationships that were not a durable. In hindsight one or the other was not ready for vulnerability. To me that signals not a soul mate.

Yes. We balance each other out perfectly, I really do think we were made for each other. I'm extremely introverted and he is the only person it isn't "work" to be around.

I think so. I knew when I could sit and talk with him on the phone for hours (back when people did such things), because we both absolutely hate talking in the phone.

We met when we were 18, started dating at 24, and have been married for 10 years so far.

Yes.
But he lives on the other side of the world and he has a girlfriend and child.

Holding out for plan B.

I am sorry it did not work out. Best wishes with finding soulmate #2.

Probably a dumb question, but I'm going to ask anyway. If you did, how do you know they're your soulmate?
