Hi folks! Any more recent feedback on Lewinsville Montessori? Considering this facility for our 14m son

PP whose son is at Lewinsville, also a longtime educator. He gets plenty of free play. As has been discussed here many times, there are lots of ways to "do" a Montessori program.

It's a construction site at the moment. Also, it used to be called Fun and Friends and had a bad reputation. Not sure if it's a new school or just a renaming to get away from previous bad reviews.

We're really happy there! Our son has been there since 7 months. He's almost 2. I love peeking in the window when the kids are doing their "work." And the practical life stuff is great. They've worked with him on wiping his nose, drinking from an open cup, etc. They still get plenty of outside time, which I think is important. I'm actually kind of excited about the trailers, because I think they'll be nicer than the ancient building they're in now.

I did visit, but i was toting a cranky infant with me at the time, so I didn't get to spend as much time there as I would have liked, and while we did chat with the director, I didn't get to talk to any of the teachers. My big concern was that the teachers would be new to the Montessori philosophy. The second biggest concern is that the kids are going to be in trailers. I'm still waffling between Montessori and play based but we are on the waiting list now at least.

Have you visited yet? I toured a few months ago and there is more to it than I expected. The Montessori management seems to have a deep history an knowledge of Montessori and are gradually training the teachers and getting them up to speed. The infants and toddlers seemed happy and well-cared for.
