Yesterday she was telling me how her perfect daughter had her son potty trained by 1 1/2. Hes 5 now and still sometimes wets himself. Only he's scared to tell his mother when he does so he hides the evidence.

She called DH while he was at work. He was so busy he didn't get a chance to call me until it was too late. He did tell her to let me know she was coming. She didn't.

Oh thank you. I needed that laugh. I meant to take it down yesterday but ended up at my MIL's all day for their new years party. Which makes the tree comment even more annoying.

Everyone knows you take your tree down after Epiphany. The twelve days of Christmas aren't even up! While I don't personally care, you can pretend you do and it's just basic knowledge and she is undereducated. Obviously.

And the wise men haven't even made it to Baby Jesus yet! Tree stays up until Epiphany in my house!!

She was rude. I think you could have said, "that's not very nice to say" and then said no more. And she might have been mad for awhile, but you have to begin somewhere. Nothing will change unless you expect/insist on basic politeness.

I know. It's silly. Just one of those days. MIL is Passive aggressive constantly. Usually it just goes in one ear and out the other. I told DH if he eats those damn ribs tonight he could sleep on the couch.

Yes, it's petty. Yes, I'm having a bad day. 1 year old DD has been very clingy today and I've had a lot to get done. MIL decides to pop by with leftovers while I'm in the middle of cooking dinner and dealing with DD. The first thing out of her mouth was "oh I see you haven't taken down your tree ". Then it's "oh, that's what you're making for sinner. I brought ribs, I'm sure DH would rather have ribs". Naturally she expects me to entertain her despite my hands being completely full. Ugh, seriously. Thanks for stopping by.
