I have two children and based on the responses on those who've availed of Dahlgren's services, I would like an assessment done by her. I am little hesitant because I am unaware of what the price range of the tests might be? Could you give a ballpark amount on the $$? TIA

She charges $400 for the WISC. She charges $2,200 for pychoeducational testing - this includes a WISC test, and your insurance may cover part of it, but not the WISC part.

Also, all were in pool.

BTW, I'm the quoted PP - above; not sure who the other responding poster is.

With 3 kids smart enough to be in AAP, I'm wondering why you had get WISCs for all of them. Seems NNAT/CogAT would have identified at least one of them?

We wanted WISC done to see for ourselves what their IQs were. All were extremely high. Also, WISC identified low processing speed - extreme - in one with ADD- inattentive.. But child is smart enough (not sure if I'm using this right), that the low PS and ADD-I don't affect progress or grades-at all

Our son had "average" NNAT/CoGAT scores, and we knew that wasn't right so we had him tested at GMU and it came out gifted.

Why were the other 2 tested then?

Not true. I'm the PP with 3 kids. Apparently our experiences were different.

We used George Mason also. Their reports have a good reputation with FCPS.

Diana Dahlgren is near GMU. She is widely used, but not everyone loves her. Here is a thread from last year. I'll let you decide if she is a good idea or not:

Interested in feedback on whether to use GMU or another private tester. Please post who you used and your experience.
