I just wrapped up "The Whistleblower" by John Grisham last night.
Couldn't put it down while reading it.
After his last few flops, the man finally got back on his A-game.
Love the suspense in this one.

Have you read The Underfround Railroad (National Book Award winner) or The Sympathizer (Pulitzer) yet? Both fantastic of course.

+1 for Kate Atkinson. FWIW, I loved Life After Life but wouldn't necessarily call it a page turner.

Tana French or Kate Atkinson mysteries! I also love Kate Atkinson's non-mystery novels, especially Life After Life.

I like murder mysteries, my go to authors are: Lee Childs-Jack Reacher series, Harlan Coban and John Sandford, Lucas Davenport/Virgil Flowers series.
I read books by the dozen when I'm on vacation and love these.

Try David Benioff's "City of Thieves" about a couple of guys who are compelled to go on a quest during the siege of Leningrad (WWII). Loved it.

I don't have genre-specific requirements, just want engrossing. I usually tend toward novels with a mystery/suspense type of plot or a compelling story of some sort...and I usually stick to NYT best sellers and what's popular because I never know what to choose. I read Girl on the Train and was interested but not obsessed. Thought Gone Girl was better but still lacked something...maybe depth, I don't know. Any ideas/recs for me?
