Chris Rock has a famous bit about this.

I don't get it myself. You guys think women don't want novelty and/or a more attractive partner? But we're good at closing our eyes and fantasizing.

Well what does he say? How does he explain it to you?

For us, this would be a sign that he's seriously pissed at me and/or cheating. He never turns down sex (except when sick). Even when he has a cold he's still after it.

He's bored shitless, he's tired and stressed, he's having an affair and feels guilty, he's gay, he has low T. Have a talk.

Resentful, probably, or affair.

I know, that gets thrown out a lot, but it has to be said. Of the three men I know in sexless marriages, one is sexless because his wife is (rightly) resentful, but I don't know his side of things. The second I don't know why, but I suspect it is a combo of both husband and wife being busy and resentful of each other (both of them have talked to me about it), but I don't know that one or the other is interesting). And the third man isn't initiating with his wife because he is resentful, and angry at his wife for rejecting him for so long, so now he's the gatekeeper. And she doesn't initiate either.

All of the men early 50s. Only one has had an affair that I know of (the 3rd man) the other two I doubt, but it is possible.

I think it is easier to not have sex with the wife than to deal with their own shit.

Try mixing it up. Do something a little crazy that might ignite something. I'm happy to help with suggestions if necessary.

Any wife in this predicament should seek fulfillment out there. Should be easy enough to find.

What gives?

Same thing as when wives don't want it. Probably hormonal. But, possibly he's tired or resentful.

Monogamous sex for years and years is kind of a mindfuck. That's reality. Life isn't a fairytale.

I always assume that he has recently masturbated and don't get too upset about it.

Men can have low drives too. Is this a new change or has it always been this way? It is worth seeking medical attention.

I don't know OP. I'm in the same boat, for a couple of years now, and it is incredibly upsetting.
