You should do IVF. 5% a month isn't cumulative. Each month its5%

From my experience I can share that :

1. You may want to rule our hypothyroidism . In my case I had no symptom at all. It came up for the first time in my blood work for my 2nd pregnancy (which ended in a m/c).
2. Also, as per my GYN as you age, you start ovulating little earlier than your usual. So it may be good idea to invest in a good ovulation kit.
3. I have conceived thrice after my first child ( I am now turning 40 in 3 months and my first one was born at 35), all 3 of my pregnancies have ended in a m/c due to bad egg quality. So it is not just about conceiving, it is also about its viability. We are now considering IVF.

First pregnancy happened on my first try at 33. Then I started trying again at 36 with good numbers and I didn't have any luck for three years. By the time I started the IVF process my AMH had dropped precipitously. Pregnant now at 39.

I've been pregnant 13 times since I was 38. (Now 46.) No babies. Getting pregnant does not mean you will give birth to a healthy baby. Miscarriage risk goes up with age too. And age absolutely affects male fertility as well, though the exact affects aren't well understood.

OP, have you moved on to IUI or IVF? The rule of thumb is intervention after six months of trying unsuccessfully at your age.

OP here. I did not need any help getting pregnant at 35 (almost 36) but am almost 39 and it's been two years TTC #2.

You may not get pregnant at all.

Except with each passing year the chances drop even more so while you may get pregnant, each passing month lowers your chances.

I recently read a statistic that the average 40 year old will take 20 months to get pregnant (5% chance each month). I'm not yet 40 (38) but my AMH points to the fact that my ovaries have prematurely aged (my AMH is .4). I've been TTC for two years now with no luck, all tests normal and RE says it's "age". Do you really think it takes that long for the average 40 year old to get pregnant? If so then it will probably take me 4 years.
