I agree with this.
First: if the person who doesn't like it can't voice their opinion in a tactful and respectful way, that's a problem. If the person who made the change can't receive a tactfully voiced opinion without losing it, that's also a problem. In a relationship you need to be able to both give and receive criticism or a disagreeing opinion gracefully and like an adult. I don't like it when my partner cuts his hair too short. I've told him that. It hasn't caused a problem.
Second: I don't see anything wrong with thinking that a spouse should want to look good for their partner. If I knew my husband didn't like my new haircut I probably wouldn't keep it. I'm not going to keep it just to spite him. I trust his opinion and I also want to look and feel sexy for him. His opinion does matter to me.
