I was talking to someone about this too - the show and relationship definitely has a different dynamic than the "family-centric" Gaines' show. However, I also was just told that the evangelical church the Gaines' attends has some anti-LGBTQ views that some (including me) would find objectionable, so that has colored my view a bit on the Gaines.
